Former W.H. Smith site in Clifton

Feb 15, 2018

THAT Group will host a drop-in style staffed exhibition in Clifton Library, Princess Victoria St. on February 15th from 6pm until 8pm.

Representatives from THAT Group and their architects, Feilden Clegg Bradley and Tetlow King Planning will be present to answer questions.

The new plans provide for a range of retail shops on the lower floor levels, office space above and restaurants on the top floor.

THAT Group says that changes include a reduction in the overall size of the development, a stepping back of the Clifton Down Rd. frontage and planted terraces and canopies to soften the elevation.

A number of members have already commented that, whilst these plans are an improvement on previous ones, the building is still too tall and densely massed. There are no parking provisions for staff, which means that there will be more cars on the already congested streets in Clifton village.
